City of Gary will use truck spraying to control mosquitos, prevent disease and ensure the safety of residents.

The City of Gary's Health and Human Services will use truck spraying to control and reduce the number of mosquitoes that can spread viruses. This activity will ensure the safety of residents and neighborhoods by preventing diseases carried by mosquitoes.

Residents do not need to stay indoors during spraying as the spray poses no risk to human health or the environment.

Gary will be divided into sections for spraying, contingent on two trucks and weather conditions. The following is the tentative schedule:

Week of July 22

Monday: sections 1 and 6

Week of July 29

Tuesday: Sections 5 and 7

Week of August 5

Wednesday: Sections 4 and 8

Week of August 12

Thursday: Sections 2 and 3

Week of August 19

Friday: Sections 9, 10 and 11

This schedule will repeat bi-weekly until September 30, 2024. View the attached map to find your section.
