The Office of Violence Prevention of the Gary Police Department is dedicated to building a safer community by equipping individuals with essential life skills and strengthening community collaboration. We work to prevent violence, build resilience, and inspire a brighter future by connecting youth and adults with positive role models and teaching conflict resolution skills that reduce violent incidents in our neighborhoods.
Our comprehensive approach includes providing resources and support to those most at risk, creating positive community spaces, and partnering with local agencies and non-profits to develop programs to engage and empower our community.
