Cold Wind Chills Expected - Warming Centers Available to the Public

Wind chills in Northwest Indiana are expected to drop below zero from Saturday January 18, until Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

When temperatures drop below 32°F, warming centers are available. Click here for a list of warming centers.

Here are some additional safety tips for cold weather:

- Dress in Layers: Wear hats, gloves, and scarves outside.

- Stay Indoors: Limit your time outside.

- Keep Pets Indoors: Keep your pets safe and warm inside.

- Check on Neighbors: Look out for elderly or vulnerable neighbors who might need assistance.

- Prevent Frozen Pipes: Let hot and cold water trickle or drip at night from a faucet; make sure heat is left on and set no lower than 55 °F.
