The City of Gary would like to inform residents of a temporary full lane closure on Grand Boulevard between Ash Place (1st Avenue) and 3rd Avenue.
This closure is necessary to safely remove the existing Marquette Greenway Trail pedestrian bridge and install a new replacement bridge.
Construction is scheduled to take place January 19 through January 27, 2026, weather permitting. During this time, traffic will be detoured, and motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour signage.
We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we complete this important infrastructure improvement.
