GARY, IN – The City of Gary, and Mayor Eddie D. Melton will host a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new FedEx distribution center on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 1:30 PM. This project, a $60 million investment, is a major milestone in the city's economic revitalization and is expected to create approximately 600 jobs.
The new 317,000-square-foot facility will be located next to the Gary/Chicago International Airport. This development will provide significant job opportunities not only for the initial construction of the project but also for the operations of the facility for years to come.
