City of Gary hosts reception to welcome new Indiana University Northwest Chancellor

GARY, IN – On Monday, September 6, 2025, the City of Gary, Mayor Eddie Melton, alongside the community, business leaders, and other elected officials hosted a meet and greet reception to formally welcome Dr. Arrick Jackson, the newly appointed Chancellor of Indiana University Northwest. The event aimed to foster a strong relationship between the city and the university and to introduce Dr. Jackson to key community leaders and stakeholders.

Dr. Jackson, who officially began his role on July 1, 2025, brought a wealth of experience in higher education and a commitment to academic excellence and student success. The reception was a crucial step in building a foundation for future collaboration on initiatives that will benefit both the university and the City of Gary.
