City of Gary Announces Exciting Lineup of Summer and Fall Events

Gary, IND. Mayor Eddie Melton and the City of Gary are proud to announce the calendar of community events for Summer and Fall 2025. These events are hosted by the Mayor’s Office to highlight Gary’s culture and offer meaningful experiences for residents of all ages.

“This season, we’re continuing our mission to bring joy, connection, and opportunity to every corner of Gary,” said Mayor Melton. “These events are for our people—every age, every neighborhood—and we invite everyone to come out and be a part of something special.”

The 2025 lineup includes:

  • Juneteenth Fest at West Side Leadership Academy – June 21
  • Food Truck Friday – June 27
  • Wind Down Wednesday – July 2
  • Independence Day Parade – July 3
  • Food Truck Friday – July 25  
  • Summer South Shore Summer Music Festival– July 25  
  • Back to School Fest – August 2
  • Gary Airshow Weekend – August 9 & 10
  • Wind Down Wednesday – August 20
  • Food Truck Friday – August 29
  • Wind Down Wednesday – September 3
  • Festival of Lights on Broadway – November 29
  • Touch-a-Truck – Details TBD
