City of Gary Mosquito Spraying - 2026

To protect public health and reduce the spread of mosquito-borne illnesses, the City of Gary’s Department of Health and Human Services will conduct truck spraying throughout the summer.

‍What Residents Should Know :

• Purpose: To control mosquito populations and prevent the spread of viruses
• Safety: The spray used is safe for people, pets, and the environment. You do not need to stay indoors during spraying.
• Schedule: Spraying is divided by city sections and is dependent on weather and truck availability.

Spraying Schedule:

• September 1 - 4 Routes 4 & 8

• September 7 - 11 Routes 9, 10, 11

• September 14 - 18 Routes 1& 6

• September 21 - 25 Routes 2 & 3

• September 28 - Oct 2 Routes 5 & 7
